A major financial institution in the Republic of Liberia, West Africa is expanding its scope of services with the view of maintaining and enhancing its market presence and requires the services of an experienced Accountant. Vacancy Vice President, Accounts/ Chief Accountant

Reports To Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration

Supervises Accounting Department

Job Purpose
Supervises day to day financial accounting activities, consolidation and preparation of reports and analysis; Coordinates departmental Activities.

Key Duties
Communicate the institutions strategic direction and objectives, ensure alignment of departmental and institutional goals; responsible for preparation of final accounts and financial statements; responsible for accounts payable and receivable and other regular and interim reports and statements to management. Ensure proper accounting policies and procedures are adhered to. Prepare and verify the enterprise’s financial statement s to regulatory authorities. Supervise and delegate work to accomplish objectives.

Competencies
Masters of Business Administration and/or professional accounting qualification with minimum five (5) years relevant experience, three (3) of which should have been at a managerial position. Ability to use spreadsheet and statistical software to analyze data, spot trends and develop forecasts. Excellent financial modeling skills
